I really believe that less is more when it comes to Valentine's Day decor, but it seems this is just another point of contention between myself and the Ministry's holiday committee. At the risk of sounding the bitter cynic, this much pink makes me ill.

A month into the New Year calls for an evaluation of my resolutions:
• Keep on top of the shopping. Currently out of food. Failed.
• Cut back on smoking. Failed.
• Keep better correspondence
Bugger that. My Resolutions clearly didn't take into account how shit this year could possibly end up being.
Today, I woke up in a panic with the thought, "Oh gods, I haven't owled or been by to see mum in weeks she is going to kill me." And then I remembered she's dead, and I went to work and didn't think about it again until I got home.
I'm ready for this to start getting easier, now.
